I got the info on what's happening with the Surfer's Walk of Fame induction ceremony this weekend. First , the inductees:
To kick things off on Friday night, there will be a showing of a new surf flick at the Hermosa Playhouse Theatre. They'll be showing "
Fly in the Champagne'" at 6pm, a movie about the rivalry between a couple of future hall of famers, AI and the Slater. Tickets are $10 at the door, but can also be bought in advance at the community center. There's also going to be an auction, a raffle and a display of works by local surf artists.
Saturday morning starts off with a surf contest at 8am for some high school surf teams, south side. After that, the induction ceremony starts at 11am. Finally, Spyder Surf is throwing
a big bash, full of swag, music (Pepper) and surf celebrities (Tom Curren).
